Dear Editor:
We will be giving our Mom a special Mother’s Day and birthday gift this year, something she has taught us, over the years, that is more precious and meaningful than a basket of flowers, jewelry or a trinket of some sort. We want to acknowledge her personal strength and commitment to us, her children, and to an endless amount of people over the years she has supported and loved, personally and professionally, and also to keep our Nana’s (Jean Foley’s) memory alive recognizing her many years of volunteering and support she gave to many groups and organizations in her life time.
On May 16th, at 12:00 p.m., we will be joining hundreds of other supportive people at the Concord Carlisle High School to participate in the six mile MS Walk 2004, benefiting the Central New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. MS is a chronic, unpredictable neurological disease primarily affecting adults in between the ages of 20-40. A diagnosis of MS often means a change in family’s educational futures, developing careers, and personal life goals and dreams. Recent advances in MS research offers new hope and optimism that MS will someday be a disease of the past. But today, there is no cure.
The MS Central New England Chapter serves over 12,000 families throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire affected by this devastating disease. The Chapter provides important programs that directly improve the quality of life for these individuals while investing in critical MS research.
We hope that you will consider supporting any group, charity or something of meaning to you, in recognition of your Mom, Aunt, Grandmother or any women that has had an impact in your life.
If you would like to support us in our efforts you could mail a check payable to National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) Central New England Chapter to MST Hardimon, 12 Birchwood Road, Wilmington, MA 01887 or to the attention of Charlotte Zolt, Wildwood School, 182 Wildwood Street, Wilmington, MA.
Thank you for considering a special Mothers Day gift this year. For additional information please visit the MS Walk 2004 home page located on the Chapter’s secure web site at www.msnewengland.org.
Mom, Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Birthday.
Love,
Michael, Shelley and Tara Hardimon
